Thunder Select

Supermite Program

Parents of U11 players may not be aware that next year at the U13 level, play is tiered. There are three levels of U13 that are available.

  • The "C" level is House which does not require tryouts and everyone is welcome to join. Your
current U11 team plays at the House level.

  • Our association offers a rep "B" level team called Thunder, which requires players to attend a tryout where they are selected based on ability
  • Our association does not have an "A" level team at the U13 level, but we partner with the White Rock Renegades organization.  This team also requires a tryout.

The tryouts for A and B level ball for U13 and up  are at the beginning of September as these teams practice all winter (indoors). House teams are formed in the spring in the same manner the teams were formed
this year.

In order to prepare players for these different levels of play, SSWRMSA offers selected players the opportunity to play on a Supermite team at the same time as they continue to play with their house U11 team. The Supermite team is an opportunity for players to try a more competitive level of ball before choosing the level they want to commit to for the next year.

Coaches on A and B teams often look for players who have been part of Supermites. If your daughter is considering playing at a rep level in U13, you should strongly encourage her to participate in Supermites to gain some experience.
