Volunteering
Volunteering provides an excellent opportunity to get involved and give back to the community. Volunteers are not only important to the Fastpitch Association they are integral. Every year we have need to fill a variety of spots, including:
- Executive
- Coaching
- Concession Staff
- Field Clean-up Crew
- Registration Day Staff
At registration you wiil be required to give a post dataed cheque ($100 for 2011) and on completion of you volunteer hours this will be either destroyed or returned and cashed if you have hours left to do . Those volunteering for the executive or coaching will not be required to fulfill the required 4 hours per player throught the season. If you not to wish to partisipate in the volunteer process please let the co-ordinator know ASAP so you cheque can be cashed and we can hire someone to cover you.
Volunteers may also be eligiable for the Blue Convention Scholarship
Skills Required
No specific knowledge of softball is required, just a willingness to show up and have fun.
Training
All training is provided when you show up to perform your task. Some positions like coaching may require you to take some training.
Flexible Time Commitment
Although the Association is active all year round the majority of the volunteer effort is required during the softball season from April to June. To sign up for your prefered time slot please contact the Volunteer Co-Ordinator early in the new year.
